Tiago
Tiago is increasingly unhappy with his role as fairly senior operations manager in a corporation. Though he has a great job and is comfortable with his remuneration package, he feels that something is missing. He frequently feels like he is just coasting, while others seem to move ahead around him. This did not used to be a problem as he was quite happy doing his part in making small changes here and there and seeing his efforts to cut cost pay off. Recently, however, he has explored some new ideas and wants to make some changes that will really make a difference. He is convinced that his ideas will make a real difference in streamlining how the company operates, but all his efforts to make changes happen fall on deaf ears. His own manager has not pushed back, but seems to be distracted by resolving operational issues that keep distracting from the real changes that would make everyone’s life so much better. Tiago wonders whether it’s time to make a career change.
Though Tiago‘s case is fictional, many leaders have great ideas that might make a huge difference to their company’s success, but feel unheard or hampered in their ability to make real change happen or to take an influence on shaping their world, even in fairly senior positions.
I help business leaders like Tiago by helping them explore their current position, mirroring back a neutral and objective view of their situation free of company dynamics working with them to discover workable solutions that are uniquely theirs.
